Terms and conditions

Last updated: 13 October 2026

1. Who we are

TISS is a service of TISS Corporation. "We" and "us" mean TISS Corporation; "you" means the person or business that orders from us.

These terms apply to everything you buy on this website. By paying, you agree to them, to our refund policy and to our privacy notice.

2. What you buy

  • Secured Domain: your domain, registered (or moved to us) in your business's name, locked against being transferred without you, and renewed on time every year.
  • Fully Managed: everything in Secured Domain, and a person who makes every change to your domain's records for you (section 6).
  • Instant Rescue: we fix what our check found wrong with your domain, where it is now, and send you a report (section 8).

A domain is registered with the registry for its ending (for .co.za, the ZA Central Registry), whose own rules apply to it. We register and manage it for you through an accredited registrar.

3. Prices and paying

  • Prices are in rand, as shown on our pricing page when you order: for .co.za, R199 a year (Secured Domain), R690 a year (Fully Managed) and R1 490 once (Instant Rescue).
  • No VAT is charged: we're not registered for VAT. The price you see is the price you pay.
  • You pay in full, in advance, through PayFast, by card or Instant EFT. We never see or keep your card details.
  • There's no debit order, and nothing is charged automatically.
  • Your plan's year starts on the day you pay.

4. Your domain is yours

  • We register your domain in your business's name (or yours, if you order as a person), with you as its owner. We manage it for you; we never own it.
  • You can move your domain to another provider whenever you like. Ask us for its transfer code and we'll give it to you, the owner, once we've confirmed it's you. There's no fee for leaving.
  • We register a new domain within one working day of your payment (working days are Monday to Friday, except public holidays). Until it's registered, someone else could register the name first; if that happens, you get your money back in full.

5. Renewing

  • We remind you before your year ends. You renew by paying, like the first time.
  • You renew at the price you started on. If the price changes (the registry's fee rises from time to time), we tell you at least a month before your renewal.
  • We never let a domain lapse while it's paid for.
  • If you don't renew, your domain expires at the end of its year, and your website and email on it stop working. The registry then holds it for a while before anyone else can register it; it may charge a fee to restore it during that time, which we'd pass on to you.

6. Changes to your domain

  • On Fully Managed, every change to your domain's records is included: connecting email, pointing it at a website, Google or Meta verification and the like. Ask on your domain's page; we make it within one working day, and fix something broken the same working day.
  • On Secured Domain, a change is R250. We send you a quote first, and make it within one working day of your payment. Or upgrade to Fully Managed for the difference for the rest of your year.
  • A change is a change to your domain's records. Building or moving a website, moving a mail system, or work at another company's service isn't; we'll quote for it if you'd like us to help.
  • We keep a record of every change we make, and put back anything that breaks because of it.

7. Moving your domain to us

  • We copy your domain's records before we move it, so your website and email keep working.
  • You give us your domain's transfer code from your current provider, or ask them to release it to us.
  • .za domains move free. .com, .net, .org and .africa domains move with their next year included, as their registries charge a year for every move.
  • On Fully Managed, we fix what our check found as it moves in, for R750 once, if you choose it.
  • Some domains can't be moved for a while, for example within 60 days of being registered or moved. We'll tell you if yours is one.

8. Instant Rescue

  • We start the same working day you pay, and fix what our check found, at your current provider.
  • We need you to give us access to your domain's records there, or to make the changes with us on a call. Some changes move at your provider's pace, and email security is switched on in stages.
  • We send you a report of what was wrong and what we changed, and check it again at 7 and 30 days. Anything we fixed that breaks in that time, we fix again free.
  • Move your domain to us within 30 days, and your first year of Fully Managed is free.

9. Refunds

You get your money back in full until we start work. After that, what can be refunded is in our refund policy.

10. Keeping your domain safe

  • Before we release a transfer code or change your domain's owner, we confirm it's you, on the number or email we have for you.
  • We'll never ask you for a password, a card number or a one-time PIN.
  • Keep your contact details with us up to date: they're how we reach you about your renewal and your domain's security.

11. Using your domain

  • Give us true details: a registry may cancel a domain registered with false ones.
  • Don't use your domain for spam, scams, phishing, malware or anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes someone else's name or trade mark. We may suspend a domain that is, as the registry may.
  • You're responsible for your website, your email and what's sent from your domain.

12. What we're responsible for

  • We register and look after your domain with care and skill.
  • We're not responsible for outages or changes at the registries, or at the companies that host your website or email, though we'll help you deal with them.
  • Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. We're not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profit or business. Nothing here limits what South African law doesn't allow to be limited, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to a payment is the one on this page when you paid. We'll tell you about changes that affect your renewal before it's due.

14. Law and contact

These terms are governed by South African law.
